Location of Tiruchirappalli

Tiruchirappalli city is situated geographically at the centre of Tamil Nadu and located on the banks of River Cauvery. The total area of the city is 23.26sq.km and it supports more than 6,00,000 people. The required quantity of water in city is pumped from the River Cauvery. About 85% of the water is sent out as wastewater from every house. This wastewater collected and transported to Panjapur, where Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is located. The collected water is treated and finally is released into Koraiyar River. Due to handling of large quantity of sewage the air in the area is with bad odors and also led to reduction in the water quality and it ultimately affects the ecosystem of the area. for more details ------------rajendrakumarmeen@gmail.com
